What are the common reasons a release gets rejected?

If your release was rejected or sent back for corrections, below are common reasons why your release was not approved for distribution:

• Names and titles cannot include numeration (Song1, Song2, etc.)
• Using the same song titles and album titles on multiple releases
• Excessive use of special characters
• Using the name of an existing artist that is not yourself, or a trademarked phrase
• Using audio, or melodies that you do not have the rights to (no cover songs or samples)
• Your release must not promote hatred based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national/ethnic origin, or other identities
• Your release must not include specific encouragement of violence, or pornography
• Album art and graphics must be original and you must create new art for all releases
• Album art contains trademarks or logos from companies and brands  
• Any album art that violates our content guidelines will be rejected or removed
